September

Here we stand, united now looking into the sky, wondering why we've climbed so high and have fallen down watching our people die in the blink of an eye.

The world looked on in a helpless gaze while the towers crumbled in a blacked haze.
Our tears they fell upon our face as one... nation united now.
The work has begun.

We close our eyes in solemn prayer and ask for strength in our despair in reverent pause we see their faces... in our minds so clear.

And we will always remember you in our hearts this September.
We will never forget you in the days of September.

Angry hearts seek to repay the evil that hides away, gone the next day.
With no recourse we find ourselves in fear waiting for a time when the hate will reappear.

We shut our doors under lock and key and tremble as we kneel at the TV.
But let us not forget the lives that gave... and rise to your feet and say... "today's a new day."

I'm living for the day when the lion and the lamb shall lie down together in peace.
